Hide Your Words in My Heart

Do you believe that keeping the word of God in your heart, shields you and protects you from sinning or doing bad things? Our church's couples ministry has challenged each couple or individual to memorize verses every week and these verses will be used as our basis for our Bible Study. I encourage everyone to do the same thing. Here are our past memory verses:

John 3: 17
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Philippians 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Ephesians 5:20
Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Colossians 3:17
And whatsoever ye do in the word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
In every thing give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

=== Why do this?
Psalms 119: 10-12
With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
